News.com.au has reported (26/07/2015) on the latest One Big Switch energy campaign in NSW.
The Big Energy Switch is a joint initiative between One Big Switch and News Corp Australia that has gathered more than 19,000 signatures.  The campaign hopes to see more competitive gas and electricity charges.
As a result of the campaign so far, NSW households are now receiving discounts of up to 16 per cent off gas usage and 22 per cent off Energy Australia's market electricity costs.  This latest offer is available to new consumers who sign up and existing Energy Australia customers.
Joel Gibson, One Big Switch spokesman, says that the deal is a result of customers joining forces and showing that they are fed up with rising prices.   He says it is a fantastic win for People Power in NSW and could spark a new energy price war.
Scott and Jacqui Willis and their three children joined the campaign because they were fed up with high electricity prices.  The first bill over summer for their 5 bedroom house was $2200.  They now keep an eye on consumption by using an electricity monitor.
People are encouraged to join the campaign and there is no obligation to take up the offer.  Any offers accepted mean that News Corp, Seven West Media and One Big Switch earn a commission.
