Knauf Insulation at the 6th Energy Efficiency Forum and Fair in Turkey

Last week, the Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz met with Knauf Insulation during the 6th Energy Efficiency Forum and Fair which took place in Istanbul during 14-17 January 2015.

Emre Gurcan, Knauf Insulation’s General Manager Turkey, explained our sustainable energy efficiency initiatives to the Minister, highlighting the important role of insulation in increasing energy efficiency in buildings and its contribution to the reduction of energy needs of Turkey, which is 76% dependent on imported energy.

Mr. Gurcan also mentioned Knauf Insulation’s investment in Turkey and the mission we undertook in working with the authorities to help increase the insulation standards to EU levels by sharing best available sustainable technology and international network together with our worldwide technical experience and expertise .

On the second day of the forum, Knauf Insulation Eastern Europe Public Affairs Manager Ondrej Sramek made a presentation on the “Latest Developments on the EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive” and shared his views on the road ahead for the implementation of energy efficiency in the construction sector in Turkey.

There was also extensive media coverage during the fair, in which we were able to present our views and suggestions on building energy saving tips on national TV’s including CNN Turk.
