So, here’s the good news – more and more customers are asking about the environmental impact of the products they buy.

So, here’s the good news – more and more customers are asking about the environmental impact of the products they buy.

This is great for the environment, but with a blizzard of information out there, where do you start?

With Knauf Insulation.

We give customers the right information for the right products for the right situation.

Some customers need an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) that covers every element of a product’s life in minute detail because they have to optimise the environmental impact of an entire building.

Not a problem. We can provide it.

Some customers care about the environmental impact of our products but want an information on the environmental impacts condensed into something they can understand quickly.

No problem. We can provide it.

“Environmental information can be incredibly complex and different customers need different levels of information. That’s why we created Knauf Insulation Environmental Fact Sheets that distil the essence of an EPD into a digestible three-page format,” says Vincent Briard, Head of our Sustainability, Products and Building division.

For semi-finished products or combinations of products such as Heraklith – featuring EPS, Rock Mineral Wool and Wood Wool – an Environmental Fact Sheet (or EFS) is all our customers need.

“We can produce hundreds of EFSs in half the time it would take to produce a single EPD, while still providing important information on product sustainability,” says Joachim Wieltschnig, Technical Director for Wood Wool.

Already EFSs are available for 100% of our Wood Wool range and the next products to feature the easy-to-digest EFS format will be from our Original Equipment Manufacturing division that creates special tailor-made solutions.

“This is an amazing accomplishment because these products are part of highly complex elements like sandwich panels, but we can provide an EFS at the touch of a button,” says Briard.
