Passive House Approach

High performance homes often follow the Passive House approach and are usually designed by architects using a combination of systems to achieve a higher performing energy efficient home.

There are many aspects which need to be considered when building a high performing home, from double glazed windows to increased levels of insulation.

An average home will lose or gain up to 20-30 per cent of heat through ceilings, up to 15-25 per cent through the walls and 10-20 per cent through the floors*. Increasing the R-Value of insulation in the initial stages of your build is more economical, increases the comfort levels and will future proof your home. When building your home other design considerations should include double glazing, ventilation systems and solar panels.
