The Earthwool® range of products manufactured by Knauf Insulation has received CodeMark certification. Products that are awarded CodeMark, an independent product certification scheme, demonstrate compliance with mandatory Building Code requirements and provide a statutory requirement for acceptance by regulatory bodies.
In order to achieve CodeMark certification, Earthwool® demonstrated compliance with requirements of the Building Code of Australia (BCA), including non-combustibility and thermal performance.
Earthwool® insulation is available for a range of applications including walls, ceilings and floors. Made using recycled glass and with ECOSE® Technology, a binder that has no added formaldehyde,
Earthwool® provides a high performing, sustainable solution for designers, specifiers and builders. Guy Manthel, Technical Product Manager, said: “CodeMark certification for the Earthwool® range of products provides confidence to specifiers and end users that the products comply with all the relevant building code requirements.”
“As a glasswool product, Earthwool® has inherent thermal, acoustic and fire performance and is a safe, high quality insulation solution for residential and commercial applications,” he added.
News of the certification follows the recent announcement that Knauf Insulation is building a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Malaysia, which will service the Asia Pacific market. The new plant will be the most modern, efficient insulation manufacturing facility in the region and is set to open early 2020.
